Casein protein is a "time-released" protein that delivers a steady stream of
amino acids over an extended period of time. This is important when you cannot eat during your regular cycle of meals. This would include long trips, or when you are sleeping.
Casein protein is digested and absorbed slowly and provides the body with amino acids over several hours. Whey protein, on the other hand, is absorbed much more rapidly. Many popular products now contain this mixture of Whey and Casein.
