The answer comes in three parts: diet, supplements and aerobic exercise.

DIET

First, Stop packing the fat on your body .The American diet is worse than ever before in history. Stop eating empty calories (sugary and processed crap) and start eating the whole foods that this planet offers. Next step, work hard and remove the fat you have already stored.

SUPPLEMENTS

Some of the more popular supplements for getting rid of fat in the middle are topical fat burners. The great thing about them are that they absorb right into the fat and unlike pills, the effective ingredients do not have to pass through the liver.

EXERCISE

Again a bit controversial, but it's widely agreed that regular, moderate, aerobic exercise 3-4 times per week works best to burn fat that'salready stored.

The definition of “regular” has been increasing in recent years. In fact, the Surgeon General has now changed the new standard for what “regular” is for Americans to 7 DAYS PER WEEK. Get up a move people. You never should have stopped.

"Moderate" because intense exercise burns glycogen not fat, so keepthe intensity at about the level where you are beginning to puff a little.

"Aerobic" means (very vaguely) the kind of exercise that requires youto inhale more. Some suggest that building more muscle through weighttraining helps as well, since muscle burns fat just by being there andmoving your body about; so some weight training couldn't hurt and willprobably help a lot.

Most fitness people agree that exercise periods of more than 20minutes work best. But note: the longer you exercise, the more proneyou are to injury since your muscles will begin to weaken. Two thingswhich help prevent injury are:

1. A good warm up. 5-10 minutes of light exercise to warm your muscles. Try to breaka sweat

2. Stretching. 20-30 second stretch per muscle.
