Most people wonder how in the world are you able to sleep your way slim? I know, crazy thing to think is possible, but believe me, I was skeptical at first also. However, there is research to support the connection between getting a good night's sleep and dropping some weight.
In a study of more than 68,000 women, those who slept seven hours a night weighed 5.5 pounds less than women who slept five hours or less! A turn out good nights rest encourages your body to produce more of the fullness hormone leptin and less of the hunger hormone ghrelin. Plus, catching those much-needed zz’s is found to help curb anxiety and depression, both of which can be a trigger for emotional eating. Insufficient rest has even been found to compromise moral judgment according to many scientists.
Try aiming to hit the sack earlier every night, even on the weekends. If you have
problems falling asleep, and find yourself finding ways to stay awake then try some these hints to help you catch up on your sleep.
~ Instead of trying to hold fast to a strict “lights-out” policy every night, intend to get in bed early at least one night per week at first, and then increase the amount of nights slowly thereafter.
~ Try to ease yourself into your slumber gathering with a calm and relaxing bath.
~ Eating a carb-based mini-meal of no more than 200 calories about 45 minutes before drifting off can increase serotonin levels, helping you relax and sleep well throughout the night. Try downing a whole-wheat English muffin with a tablespoon of honey or a cup of instant oatmeal with 1/4 cup of chopped apple for instance.
Find your own ways to turn in earlier and look forward to those fantastic sweet dreams of a trimmer, fitter, more fabulous you!
